1997 Daewoo Lanos. Five speed manual. Five door hatch.

I wanted to call it something from American Dad. When I heard ‘Lanos’ (because I’d never heard of this car before buying it) I kept thinking of a scene from American Dad, where Roger (the alien) tricks Steve (the kid) into thinking Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is in their town.

Naturally.

Roger takes Steve to a run down house thinking it wasn’t going to work, and Steve gets accepted in by some tough’s who turn out to be drug dealers, thinking that Steve is “the new guy”.

Steve gets put with a Mexican who can’t speak English. His instructions are something like “Lavatae las manos!” and Steve thinks it’s a spell.

Lanos…manos…

Get it?

LAVATAE LAS MANOS! LAVATAE LAS LANOS!
